This WWII Fifinella WASP Mascot is a Gremlin Stuffed toy reproduction of the stuffed doll that was created by the Walt Disney company for the WWII movie “The Gremlins” by Roald Dahl. Â The movie never got made, but the stuffed toys did.
Fifinella was also the mascot for the WASP’s (Women’s Air Force Service Pilot) during WWII. Â Walt Disney modified and designed the Fifinella logo for their use. Fifinella appeared on their patches, jackets and as nose art on bombers among other things.
“The Gremlins” was written by Roald Dahl, an ex-RAF pilot, the same author that wrote “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “James and the Giant Peach”.
“The Gremlins” is the story of a WWII RAF pilot and how he discovers Gus the Gremlin on his plane and convinces Gus and the other Gremlins to help them with the war against the Germans.
Fifinella stands 11 1/2″ tall from the top of her horns to the bottom of her boots and was made by Dark Horse Comics.
