Description
This WAC T Shirt is a reproduction of a WWII Ft. Oglethorpe, GA PT shirt for the WAAC’s from an original WWII photograph. Â Like their male counterparts, WACS wore their t-shirts during sports games, activities, and inter-service competitions.
In January of 1942, Fort Oglethorpe became the third and the largest training center of the WAAC’s. Â Other units and specialized schools came to Ft. Oglethorpe during 1942, including the Provost Marshal School which trained both men and women in their work as military police, the MP’s.
The Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps, WAAC, became the Women’s Army Corps, WAC, in July of 1943.
These Ladies shirts have a tapered feminine fit that is close to the body. These Ladies shirts have a Junior fit and are very snug for our Misses customers. Most of our Missy customers wear a size larger than their normal t shirt size. Customers looking for a loose fit and our Plus Size customers are usually more comfortable with the Unisex sized shirt.
