Description
This Tourniquet Box is a reproduction and the box is empty.
The serial number designates it as U.S. Navy issue. This style tourniquet was issued as part of the Corpsman kit used by the USN and USMC. It goes in the right pocket of the Corpsman pouch.
Contrary to popular belief, the 2-XXX numbers were not post-war. They were part of the U.S. Navy numbering system. The U.S. Navy and U.S. Army stock numbers would be merged in 1946 by the Defense Munitions Board. The Federal Stock Number was used for the first time in 1949.
