Our WWI “Ear Protectors with Head Band” reproduction are knitted by hand of 100% wool in Khaki. Â They appear in the 1917 Khaki Knitting book. Want olive drab instead of khaki? The WWII pattern is identical. Navy Blue and RAF blue are also available upon request.
WWI knitting patterns tend to specify a wider range of acceptable colors than their WWII counterparts. Interestingly, most patterns list gray and khaki as preferred colors rather than the OD green used during WWII.
The WWI ear warmers are hand-knitted by mom, so please allow 1-2 weeks for completion.
Washing instructions: Hand wash and dry flat. Â Do not machine dry.
