This WWII Half Pound TNT Block is a reproduction from an original in our collection.
The TNT block is thick cardboard, just like the original, with two caps. The end cap has the correct size hole for display with a fuse or other firing device. The tube is EMPTY. The caps themselves are made of plastic and are not removable.
These .5 lb TNT bricks were used by various Army, Navy, and Marine engineers and demolitions units. FM 5-31, Boobytraps and Landmines, explains the use of the half-pound TNT block with several fuses, including how to arm and disarm them. The TNT block could be used with the delay fuse, release fuse, or pressure fuse.
