Description

WWII USAAF Selfridge Field T shirt is a reproduction of an original WWII Selfridge Michigan T Shirt.

In 1917, after the US entered WWI, Selfridge Field was established.

In 1939, the 17th Pursuit Squadron was stationed at Selfridge prior to their assignment to the Philippines.  Additional pilots and mechanics left Selfridge to serve with the Flying Tigers.

WWII brought the First Air Force to Selfridge, along with the VII Interceptor Command and the 332d Fighter Group of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Buzz Wagner, the first American Ace in WWII served at Selfridge, as did WWI hero Eddie Rickenbacher and WWII ace Francis S. “Gabby” Grabeski.

During WWII, athletic style t shirts were available for purchase at the PX and were commonly used in training and athletic situations. PT shirts with a variety of different unit logos are well documented in many WWII photographs.

Just like the original t shirts, this reproduction is 100% cotton with a period-correct narrow 5/8″ neck, shorter sleeves and a slim/snug fit. These WWII Reproductions are true to size. This WWII US Selfridge Field t-shirt comes in men’s sizes.

This tee shirt is screened by hand and variation in colors naturally occurs.

In addition, our WWII Reproduction PT shirts have a spec tag screened inside the neck.  Women’s sizes are available upon request.  Please send an email to orders@wwiisoldier.com
